Dear rowing friends and competitors, 

We will soon host the tenth regatta „Eights on Sava” in Zagreb, being the third race in the 2024 season of the Capital Cup. All of you who have participated in the first five regattas in Zagreb from 2015 to 2023, from Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, United Kingdom, Serbia and many Croatian cities, surely hold unforgettable memories of the race, conditions, friendship, hospitality and pure joy to be in Zagreb for this event.

This year the race „Eights on Sava” is scheduled for Saturday, October 12th, 2024. We expect many participants from Croatia, and as many from abroad. Preparations for the race are in a full swing. We will do our part, and all we ask from you, with our appreciation and joy, is that you try to join us and be the part of yet another Capital Cup event. Bring you juniors, seniors, master rowers, man and woman, novices, World champions and Olympians, to compete against their Croatian counterparts.

In spite of the unfortunate drawbacks that Capital Cup Series have suffered this year, we will soon host the sixth regatta „Eights on Sava” in Zagreb, being the first race in the 2021-2022 season of the Capital Cup. All of you who have participated in the first five regattas in Zagreb from 2015 to 2020, from Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, United Kingdom, Serbia and many Croatian cities, surely hold unforgettable memories of the race, conditions, friendship, hospitality and pure joy to be in Zagreb for this event.

This year the race „Eights on Sava” is scheduled for Saturday, October 23th, 2021. We fully understand the circumstances that have caused cancellations of almost all regattas this year, and the subsequent implications on planning your regattas. Now, when regattas around Europe are again being held, we have decided to hold the Eight on Sava, following, of course, all necessary precautions and measures required by the authorities in respect to COVID-19. We expect many participants from Croatia, and hopefully as many as possible from abroad. Preparations for the race are in a full swing. We will do our part, and all we ask from you, with our appreciation and joy, is that you try to join us and be the part of yet another Capital Cup event. We will soon host the fifth regatta „Eights on Sava” in Zagreb, being the first race in the 2019 - 2020 season of the Capital Cup. All of you who have participated in the first four regattas in Zagreb in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 from Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, United Kingdom, Serbia and many Croatian cities, surely hold unforgettable memories of the race, conditions, friendship, hospitality and pure joy to be in Zagreb for this event. City of Zagreb has recognized the value of this regatta as the bridge between four friendly cities, two on river Danube - Vienna and Budapest, one on Vltava - Prague, and our hometown Zagreb on Sava, and is again the main sponsor of the regatta.

This year the race „Eights on Sava” is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2019. Based on a positive feedback from previous year's events, we expect even more participants. Preparations for the race are in a full swing. We will do our part, and all we ask from you, with our appreciation and joy, is that you join us and be the part of yet another Capital Cup event. Bring you juniors, seniors, master rowers, man and woman, novices and Olympians. Yes, even Olympians, because in our Eight we will have our own Olympic Gold medal winners in double sculls, brothers Sinković.

Dear participants,

November 1, 2018.

Because of heavy rain, Sava was out of the mainstream yesterday. The water level is dropping, but the speed, as of Thursday morning is still too high. 

We are monitoring the situation and the forecast and on Thursday evening we will decide on the race venue (Sava or Jarun).

Dear participants,

- lunch for all participants, starting at 13:00

- announcement of the results and victory and medal ceremony, starting at 16:30;

- after race celebration and "get-together" time

5. Therefore, after the race on Jarun, you should put your boats on the trailers, leave the trailers on Jarun, and head towards Club premises for lunch and victory ceremony. When everything is finished, you can go back to Jarun to pick-up trailers, or leave them there until Sunday before heading home.
6. You are all invited to join us on Friday for a celebration gathering in honor of the phenomenal success of our rowers, brothers Sinković, who won the World Championship in M2- this year, adding another achievement to their Olympic Gold in 2x. This events starts at 18:00 in the tent by the Club on Sava.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the first annual international regatta Osmerci na Savi – Eights on Sava on November 7, 2015 in Zagreb. All of us at the HAVK Mladost are truly appreciative of all of the rowers who came out, and would like to particularly honor our guests from Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, various Croatian cities and clubs from Zagreb, thus showing their support for the first of four regattas of the Capital Cup 2015/2016 (participating cities Zagreb, Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava).  We are honored to have had the opportunity to host our race in support of that event, as well as for the ambitious “Return to Sava” project.

We would like to convey special thanks to Grad Zagreb and Milan Bandić, the Mayor, who was the primary race sponsor and an enthusiastic supporter for the “Return to Sava”.

We would like to extend our gratitude, as well, to all who participated in many organizational and site preparation tasks:
